Knee Injuries

Most work-related knee injuries are from twisting, turning in tight spaces and falling. There are many different degrees of knee injuries. The amount of compensation for a knee injury varies from each case significantly depending upon the amount of time out of work and degree of loss of function. Besides lost wage benefits, the worker could receive permanent partial disability benefits from a serious knee injury where the worker will continue to have lengthy treatment, permanent restrictions, considerable loss of function, arthrodesis or arthroplasty knee replacement has taken place or is inevitable.

Permanent partial disability benefits can also be received for moderate knee injuries that involve dislocation, torn cartilage or meniscus which might also accelerate symptoms from a previous injury.

Even in less severe knee injuries result in less severe disability where there is still continuing symptoms of pain and limitation of movement could result in an award for permanent partial disability.
