A 2013 Case of Workers’ Compensation Fraud in Florida

I found an article on the website for the Florida Department of Financial Services about a company that is accused of planning and executing a scheme to defraud workers’ compensation.  The company, Preferred Staffing of America, Inc., is accused of partnering with an insurance agent to funnel business to their organization and selling false insurance certificates to these shutterstock_147876950companies/employers for workers’ compensation coverage for their businesses.  So far, the article reports that more than $130,000 has been charged for fake workers’ compensation insurance and 5 people have been arrested.  I am guessing there will be even more before the dust settles!
