Accident on job claims life of worker

Richmond, Va. (1140wrva.com) A tree trimmer was electrocuted when a branch fell across a power line. Lt. Eric Owens says the incident happened around 9am Thursday in the 1500 block of Timbercrest Court in the Tuckahoe neighborhood.

It was the first day on the job for the young man, although he was an experienced tree trimmer. He was up in a tree when the branch he cut touched a power line sending a surge through his body. The accident is being investigated.

Our thought and prayers go out to his family.
