Personal Passions
Outside of the office, Elyse loves spending time with her daughter, traveling to see family and friends, and volunteering with Kids’ Chance of Virginia, an organization that provides educational opportunities for the children of injured workers. A devoted fan of live music, she especially enjoys seeing Phish, Billy Strings, and artists in the Grateful Dead orbit. And when fall arrives, you’ll find her fully immersed in NFL football season. Her team? PHILADELPHIA SPORTS (all of them, but especially … Go BIRDS)
A Mission-Driven Advocate
Elyse’s motivation is deeply rooted in public service, social justice, and reform. She understands that injured workers in Virginia are at a disadvantage from the moment they are hurt — the laws offer too few protections and too many hurdles. Elyse is committed to correcting that imbalance through thoughtful, zealous representation and systemic change. Whether it’s fighting for her clients day-to-day, advocating nationally through WILG, or supporting legislative improvements through the Inn of Court and VTLA, Elyse leads with civility, professionalism, empathy, and strength.
She is guided by the words of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg:
“Fight for the things that you care about. But do it in a way that will lead others to join you.”
And inspired by Justice Sandra Day O’Connor:
“As women achieve power, the barriers will fall. As society sees what women can do… there will be more women out there doing things, and we’ll all be better off for it.”
