It is most important to get an attorney who handles workers compensation cases all of the time.
A general lawyer may know a little bit about workers compensation, but they are not an expert. They may also know the local attorneys and judges, but those people are not involved in Workers compensation cases.
Workers compensation cases are heard at a state agency – the Workers’ Compensation Commission.
After 25 years as a workers comp attorney, I know the adjusters, the defense attorneys and the Deputy Commissioners who will be hearing your case.
I handle workers cases all over the state of Virginia and with today’s technology it is incredibly easy and convenient to communicate with my clients. My office does phone conferences, we video chat on SKYPE, and we even have a large screen in our conference room so we can meet with everyone involved with little need to travel. Using video chat, you can still have face to face time with me even if your 50 miles away!
Our Richmond office handles all the details such as gathering medical records or filing claims.
And if there’s a hearing, I’m actually going to the Commission’s hearing location where the injury occurred so there is no need for you to travel to my office unless a court ordered deposition is required.
So, no matter where you live, if you were injured in Virginia please don’t hesitate to contact the Injured Workers Law firm for help.
